Legrand is a French industrial group based in Limoges, France. Legrand is a world leader in products and
systems for electrical installations and information networks.

In 2011, Legrand was world no. 1 for switches and sockets and in cable management. The company is
market leader in at least one of its main areas of business in 27 countries. The company's origins date
back to 1860 when a Limoges porcelain workshop was set up on the route de Lyon in Limoges originally
making porcelain dishes.

In 1904, the company was taken over by Frédéric Legrand who gave his name to the company.
In 1930, Legrand started manufacturing switches in addition to tableware to maximise the use of the porcelain ovens.

The Group is also developing its ranges around sustainable development and energy saving with a protection
range for solar installations and a lighting control range.

In 1919, the company entered into partnership with Jean Mondot, an artisan from Limoges who had started in Exideuil a small factory making electric switches using porcelain and boxwood.

Manufacturing subsequently gradually diversified into electrical equipment. At that time, before the appearance
of plastic, porcelain was the best available insulating material.

In 1949, following a factory fire, the decision was made to concentrate exclusively on electrical wiring devices (switches and sockets). The company very quickly extended its range to cover protection products
(fuse-holders and circuit breakers, etc.), cable management products (trunking and mini-trunking), emergency lighting, etc.

Legrand since made 120 targeted acquisitions all around the world, thus becoming a world leader in electrical
wiring devices with more than 150,000 product items, bases in 70 countries and sales in 180 countries in 2006.

An icon of the Australian electrical industry, HPM is committed to forging the development of modern electrical systems for domestic and commercial use. Trusted by electricians, the HPM brand denotes quality, safety and reliability.

Commencing business in the 1930s, HPM grew from a husband and wife team into one of Australia and New Zealand’s largest suppliers to the electrical industry. An industry pioneer, HPM was integral to the development
of the Australian and New Zealand electrical industries and the safe accessibility of electricity in thousands of
homes across both nations.

HPM’s latest product suite includes: switches; powerpoints; sensors; home networking systems; TV, data and
phone outlets; extension leads; powerboards; timers; door chimes; and garden lighting.

The company's products serve six principal markets: lighting controls, including switches, sockets, dimmers,
and timers; protective devices, such as circuit breakers, terminal blocks, and cable ties; communications,
door chimes and home and office audio and video installations; safety products, including smoke alarms,
including motion and presence detection. Sales and marketing are generally directed at wholesalers,
distributors, and centralized buyers, which then bring HPM products to professional users and to resellers
for the consumer market.
